Curtiss-Wright is actively evaluating the image recording capabilities for its Fortress Next Generation flight data recorder, Shephard has learned.

The crash recorders, which are ED-112A compliant, currently collect data through a constant stream of voice recordings, with images being taken concurrently.

Fortress 757, which can be installed onto rotorcraft, supports parametric flight data for a minimum of 25 hours’ capacity.

Voice recordings record constantly with no silence editing and the image recording is actively being evaluated at the moment.
