Farnborough 2016: International operator opts for armed Black Hawk

Quickly forging ahead with its development of an armed Black Hawk, Sikorsky is currently working with an unnamed existing operator of the aircraft to qualify a weapons package.

Following its promotion of a weaponised version of its S-70i Black Hawk at Exercise Anakonda in Poland in June, company officials used the Farnborough International Airshow 2016 (FIA 2016) to reveal further details about the programme.

Featuring a representative sensor and weapons suite, a PZL Mielec-built armed Black Hawk took pride of place in the space previously reserved for an F-35 mock-up at the Lockheed Martin pavilion.
