The Electronic Warfare (EW) equipment on the Royal Danish Air Force’ (RDAF) EH-101 TTT helicopter has undergone successful flight tests conducted by Terma and the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO).

Several flights and flare ejections were conducted during the testing, held at the air force base in Karup. The data collected will now undergo thorough evaluation by DALO’s and RDAF’s test teams, ahead of final certification and the approval of the entire EW system, which will be conducted in cooperation with EH-101 manufacturer AgustaWestland.

Dan Ulrich, vice president airborne systems, Terma Defense & Security, said: ‘Our preliminary assessment of the flight test is very positive. This applies to system performance, the entire process, and the collaboration between the air force, AgustaWestland, and Terma. All parties have had a constructive and result-oriented approach to the task.’

Terma is upgrading the EW suite on the Air Force’ TTT Westland 101 Merlin helicopters (EH-101) under a contract awarded in September 2012.

Final delivery of the EW equipment will take place during 2014.
