DCI to open new French helicopter training centre
DCI will open a new Helicopter International Training Centre (HCIF) registered in Dax and near French military pilot training centres, the company announced on 19 February.
The new HCIF will be located close to the Dax and Luc-en-Provence French military training centres. The H-ITC courses available in this centre will be taught in English or French, and will be jointly conducted with Helidax and the French Army Aviation (ALAT).
The HCIF will meet the fast-growing demand for pilot training from initial level up to complex mission management from friendly countries.
The training will take place on the Helidax 36 EC120 light helicopters, with modern features such as glass cockpit and training may also take place on military aircraft when appropriate. Trainees will benefit from customised support provided by DCI as well as accommodation, food and transport.
General Patrick Tanguy, director, DCI-COFRAS, said: 'This new centre stands as testimony of the close relationship between DCI and the French Army Aviation. DCI has a renowned expertise in the helicopter field among friendly countries, be it in pilot training or in maintenance operations. We stand convinced by the success of this training centre aimed at foreign pilots.'
