BAE receives order for APKWS guidance kits
BAE Systems has received an order from the US Navy to deliver Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS) guidance kits, the company announced on 19 March.
The APKWS kits transform standard 2.75-inch Hydra rockets into guided munitions that provide a precision strike capability.
The warhead of the Hydra rocket combined with precision guidance allows warfighters to strike light targets while reducing the risk of harm to friendly forces.
The kits will be manufactured at the company’s facilities in Hudson, New Hampshire; and Austin, Texas.
