Germany to send WS-61 Westland Sea King helicopters to Ukraine
Germany has committed to sending Ukraine six of its 21 retiring WS-61 Westland Sea King multirole, amphibious helicopters.
News has emerged that the company formerly known as AgustaWestland has gained a second export customer for its AW159 Wildcat helicopter.
The Philippines will join South Korea as the latest user after a notice of award was issued by the Philippine Department of National Defense. The deal for two AW159s is worth US$115.5 million, according to a copy of the notice seen by Shephard.
Under the contractual process, the manufacturer now has ten days to provide a performance security. A spokesperson from the Finmeccanica Helicopter Division said the company was not able to comment at this point.
