Australia to re-test folding fin rockets aboard Tiger

The Australian Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) has confirmed it will carry out additional live fire clearance tests for the operation of 2.75 inch folding fin rockets from its Australian Aerospace – Eurocopter Tiger armed reconnaissance helicopters because of concerns about efflux spread patterns.

DMO’s head of helicopter programmes Major General Tony Fraser confirms that “the rockets have an issue. We have not yet completely resolved the rocket issue. We are not satisfied with the efflux out of the rocket and some work has been done to reduce that. “
