Albania signs up for Cougars

The Albanian Defence Ministry has signed a contract to purchase five Eurocopter AS532AL Cougars for its armed forces.

The contract was signed during a ceremony attended by Defence Minister Arben Imami, Arjan Starova, Deputy Minister of Defense, Chief of General Staff of Armed Forces Brigadier General Maksim Malaj, directors and senior Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces General Staff. Also present were the Ambassador of France to Tirana, Maryse Daviet, and German Ambassador Bernd Borchardt as well as representives of Eurocopter.

The aircraft will be delivered over the next 3-4 years.
