Airbus still hungry for FVL business

Despite missing out on the US Army’s Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft (FARA) programme, Airbus remains open to playing a role in FVL programmes and would consider working as a partner with contract award winners.

‘We are open to that especially if it offers access to some markets that we have less of a natural presence than in European,’ Matthew Louvot, head of EVP programmes at Airbus Helicopters explained on the subject of potentially working with other primes on FVL.

The FARA industry field is due to be cut from five current initial design review contractors to two in March 2020,
