Aero India 2019: Russian Helicopters cements footprint in India

At a packed conference, and when other companies might be waiting to see how the political tide turns in an Indian election year, Russian Helicopters signed five MoUs with separate indigenous companies.

With such a foothold in the country, Russian Helicopters is surely biding its time with the shipborne Ka-226T going forward for the Naval Utility Helicopter (NUH) programme in India. The NUH programme highlights the 'Make in India' initiative, which stresses the importance of an indigenous manufacturing capability.
