ADEX 2017: Honeywell offers engines for Korean CH-47

Honeywell Aerospace was looking to fulfil South Korea’s upgrade requirements for its CH-47 helicopters at this week’s Seoul ADEX. The Korean military plans to upgrade the engines for its 28 CH-47s currently outfitted with the T55-L-712.

Whether Korea’s Defence Acquisition Program Administration decides to go with a direct commercial sale (DCS) or via the US government’s Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programme will be the deciding factor on what type of engine upgrade kit will be released, said Tim Van Luven, vice president of aftermarket sales for defence, Asia Pacific at Honeywell Aerospace.
