Su-27s and Su-30SMs conduct Kaliningrad night drills
The Baltic Fleet of the Russian Navy has conducted a series of night drills over Kaliningrad region involving at least 10 Sukoi Su-27 and Su-30SM (pictured) fighter aircraft.
The naval aircraft struck several targets including mock enemy command posts and other military equipment, according to a statement from the Baltic Fleet press office.
Pilots practiced carrying out a range of techniques and manoeuvres over both sea and land terrain at varying speeds and altitudes. This included take off and landing approaches as well as low-speed ground assaults.
The Su-27 can be armed with Vympel R-27, Vympel R-77 and Vympel R-73 missiles whilst the Su-30SM aircraft is capable of launching the Kh-29, KAB-500/1500 and the Kh-31.
