Gordon Arthur is the Asia Pacific editor for Shephard Media. Born in Scotland and educated in New Zealand, Gordon had a stint of nearly 20 years in the territory of Hong Kong before returning to NZ.

His work has appeared in nearly 40 international defence journals and magazines to date. His focus is primarily on Asia-Pacific countries, and he travels extensively in the region to attend defence shows and observe military exercises.

Harry Lye is Senior Naval Reporter at Shephard Media.

Harry joined the company in 2021, having previously written across air, land, sea, space and cyber for Global Defence Technology. Harry also has experience writing across the worlds of technology, music and the arts, from stints at The Observer and Mixmag during his studies.

Ian Parker became an aerospace and defence journalist in 1980 on Flight International and started powered flying, after having flown gliders with the Air Cadets and at Loughborough University, where he studied aerospace and ergonomics. 

In 1985, Ian joined Shephard to launch Space magazine and later Aerospace Composites & Materials. He also edited Helicopter World and Defence Helicopter for Shephard. 

In 1998, he joined Phillips Publishing as European editor for a number of aerospace titles, before going freelance in 2001. 

Ian now writes for several titles on aerospace, defence and engineering. In the late 1990s, he became a CAA class rating instructor on the Yak18T and 52 for Richard Goode Aerobatics. Now, he flies a 1952 ex-Air Cadet T-21 glider, the first type he flew in 1971.

İlker is Defence Insight Manager at Shephard Media. He has over ten years of experience in defence.

Prior to joining Shephard in July 2018, Ilker served as an officer in the Turkish Armed Forces, including overseas missions in Iraq and Washington DC. He has extensive experience in air defence specifically having been at various points: the Land Forces air defence liaison officer at  the Combined Air Operation Centre in Turkey, which commands all engagements; served as an air defence missile platoon commander; and as the air defence commander designing air defence architecture at Turkey's base in Iraq.

He holds an MA International Relations degree from War Studies Department at the King’s College London and BSc in Systems Engineering from Turkish Military Academy.

Neelam Mathews was born in India and completed her education in London.

She has written for leading international defence publications primarily in the US and UK. 

Based in New Delhi, Neelam has an investigative eye while covering military affairs. She is regularly invited to speak at online defence-related conferences. 

She has written for dailies as part of the editorial team at top defence shows in Bangalore, London, Paris and Singapore.

Norbert is the Aviation, Military Training & Simulation reporter at Shephard Media. Before joining Shephard in 2022, Norbert was writing across land, air, sea and cyber for Global Defence Technology. Norbert also has experience in reporting on politics and social issues from a stint at Times Radio.

He holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Westminster.

Rahul Bedi is a New Delhi-based journalist reporting for over 30 years on strategic, military, and security matters for overseas journals. He also writes on domestic political and foreign affairs for a variety of newspapers in the UK and in Ireland. 

Educated in Delhi, and in England, he also contributes to a handful of domestic news websites on varied social and contemporary issues.

Sam Hart is the Land Analyst for Shephard Media's Defence Insight. Before joining Shephard, Sam graduated from the University of East Anglia and is an Infantry Officer in the British Army Reserves.
