USV conversion kit in MENA tests
An autonomous boat control system developed by UAE-based Al Marakeb to convert marine craft into unmanned surface vessels (USVs) has been distributed to three MENA countries for testing.
The Marine Autopilot System (MAP SYS) ‘can upgrade any existing boat into a USV’, according to Basel Shuhaiber, CEO of Al Marakeb.
The smart system can be integrated and configured with any vessel of any size to navigate a course that is wholly predetermined by the pilot, the company said in a statement.
