US SOCOM to start MEUAS III
The US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is expected to release a Request for Proposals (RfP) this month for next-generation UAS.
This will be a continuation of its Mid-Endurance Unmanned Aircraft System (MEUAS) programme, official sources have revealed.
Speaking to Shephard, sources within the command confirmed that a contract for the MEUAS III would be awarded no later than 15 November. The programme will comprise a requirement for the provision of ISR services for the global support of US Special Operations Forces (SOF).
The RfP will officially be released by the Program Executive Office-Fixed Wing (PEO-FW) on behalf of USSOCOM
