US Army adjusts SMET robot concept

A tiny name change – from ‘squad’ to ‘small’ – reflects a huge lesson learned in the US Army’s newly named Small Multipurpose Equipment Transport (SMET) programme.

The SMET concept was originally developed to address two ‘high risk gaps’ in Infantry Brigade Combat Teams (IBCT), namely soldier load and operational energy.
