UK considers social benefits of drone deployment

The likes of Amazon and Google dominate the headlines when it comes to drone use in our daily lives with futuristic marketing campaigns, but it is more likely that UAVs that provide a social benefit will be first to appear in the air on a regular basis.

Drone use cases such as medical transportation, fire response and traffic incident response all featured as part of an initiative known as the Flying High Challenge, which was established in 2017 by global innovation foundation Nesta.

This explored the future of drones in five UK cities, including London.
