Turkish Aerospace prepare for Anka Aksungur production
Turkish Aerospace is ready to commence production of its newest MALE UAV – Anka Aksungur – at the beginning of 2020, as it awaits firm orders from indigenous defence forces.
During a first flight test last month, lasting over four hours, the aircraft successfully displayed its fully autonomous capabilities from take-off to landing, a clear sign that programme developments are gathering pace.
Part of the systems appeal to customers is that it is fully compatible with existing Anka equipment such as ground control infrastructure and LOS/BLOS datalinks, a Turkish Aerospace spokesperson told Shephard in a statement.
