China’s latest UCAV, first displayed at the Zhuhai air show in 2010, was on display in model form at the Special Operations Forces Exhibition (SOFEX) in Amman, Jordan this week.

The WJ-600, manufactured by the China National Precision Machinery Import & Export Corporation, forms part of the country’s strategy to catch up with world leaders in the unmanned sector in Israel and the US, defence sources suggested.

A spokesperson for the company described the UCAV as an ‘important weapon for information warfare’ and explained how it could be utilised for ‘fast response and strong defence penetration’.
