Russian MoD to receive Eleron-3 UAS
The Russian Ministry of Defence is set to receive 30 Eleron-3 UAS in May 2018, it was announced on 7 May.
Technical acceptance of the UAS has already begun.
The Eleron-3 UAS is equipped with an IR camera and TV low-level camera module or with a TV camera and thermal imager module. The system uses GPS and GLONASS for navigation purposes.
The UAS can perform flights in autonomous and radio command modes, during fly-bys or multiple passages above an assigned point. The system can return to the launch site automatically.
Eleron-3 is a short-range aircraft with a maximal take-off weight of 5.3kg and a payload weight of up to 1kg. The UAS has a speed of up to 130km per hour and can reach a height of up to 4,000m.
