Parrot to produce SRR prototypes for US Army
Parrot Drones has passed another milestone in the US Short Range Reconnaissance UAV programme. As part of its preparation for the final stage of the selection process, the company will begin manufacturing prototypes.
The company is finalising its US production chain alongside its partner NEOTech, with the aim of supporting US industry capabilities.
Laurent Rouchon, VP Security and Defence at Parrot, said: ‘We have successfully met the high standards set over the last 12 months on the prototype efforts and we look forward to entering this final phase and launching production in the USA’.
In April 2019, five other commercial drone companies were also chosen by the US Army and the Defence Innovation Unit to work on the SRR prototypes for military use.
