Pacific 2019: Skeldar looks farther ahead in Australia

UMS Skeldar exhibited a Skeldar V-200 UAV fitted with an eight-camera ViDAR optical radar from Sentient Vision Systems at the Pacific International Maritime Exhibition in Sydney. Such a set-up would provide better coverage than a single ViDAR sensor fitted aboard Insitu ScanEagle UAVs of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN).

David Willems, VP of business development and strategy at UMS Skeldar, said in this ViDAR configuration that three cameras look directly down while the remaining five are forward-looking.
