Oceanology International 2018: Riptide injects new mould into MkII

US company Riptide Autonomous Solutions is utilising new moulding methods to ensure market efficiency with its next generation of micro-UUV, the MkII.

Across industry there has been a focus on 3D printing although Riptide has found that the affordability and efficiency of building the vehicle has been aided by injection moulding.

Jeff Smith, CEO at Riptide Autonomous Solutions, explained at an Oceanology International 2018 briefing that the 'big news' was in the official introduction of the MkII vehicle.
