Oceanology International 2018: VideoRay glides into multiple missions

Underwater robotics company, VideoRay is showcasing its latest ROV named Defender to the European market at Oceanology International 2018.

Whilst it is the system’s debut in the region at an event, the Defender has been conducting system demonstrations over the last six months.

The ROV utilises compatible, modular components inhabiting a single, intelligent network according to company literature.

It weighs 32.5kg and includes a HD camera with an ethernet interface. The system can reach buoyancy levels of 400m.

With its lightweight functionality in mind, a company spokesperson told Shephard: 'It can be mobilised onto a plane or a helicopter.
