HAV sets test programme for end of 2014

Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV) expects to initiate a full flight test programme of its airship concept by the end of the year, officials have revealed.

Developed under the US Army’s Long Endurance Multi-intelligence Vehicle (LEMV) programme, the air vehicle was originally designed in collaboration with Northrop Grumman as an OPV.

However, despite completing its maiden flight in 2012, the LEMV programme was cancelled before the test campaign could be completed.
