General Atomics to research smart sensor AI integration with UAVs

US Army received 999 bids; work to be completed by March 2023

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems has been selected ahead of 998 other bidders to research, development, test and evaluate smart sensor AI for integration on military UAVs, the DoD announced on 18 November.

Work on the $93.29 million contract from US Army Contracting Command is scheduled for completion by 2 March 2023.

Army funds worth $13 million from the FY2021 research, development, test and evaluation budget have already been obligated.
