Dassault Aviation and Thales are to carry out the French DGA's Man-Machine-Teaming preliminary advanced study programme (PEA MMT), Dassault announced on 16 March.

The programme aims to develop the necessary AI technologies for combat aviation of the future. It will define  future cockpits and independent systems, and improve innovative technologies in MMT within the cognitive air system, particularly decision-making autonomy and machine learning. It also aims to enhance concepts and technologies in the field of smart/learning sensors.

The PEA MMT will take place over a three year period with Dassault Aviation acting as the lead contractor, responsible for air combat system; and Thales as co-contractor, responsible for human/system interface and sensors.
