Eurosatory 2018: Safran moves ahead with Furious robotic system development

Safran showcased its eRider optionally piloted vehicle and accompanying robotic system at Eurosatory 2018 as it begins development and testing with the French procurement agency (DGA).

The company was selected in December 2017, with its partner Effidence, for the Furious project, a major science and technology programme for the development of land robotics capabilities over the next five years.

‘It is important to help the [French] military staff officers to define the future requirements,’ a DGA official told Shephard, ‘For the DGA it will show us what technology to invest in.’

He emphasised that this is not a programme
