Eurofighter experience to aid in sense and avoid capabilities for UAVs
Cassidian is using its experience in the Eurofighter programme to continue its development of sense and avoid capabilities for UAVs.
Speaking at a company technology day on 29 February in Newport, UK, Joost van Tooren, head of flight guidance for the company, said that in order for UAVs to be able to operate in non-segregated airspace, the systems have to be more autonomous, and 'the system on the Eurofighter assists the pilot so much with care-free manoeuvres'.
