DSEI 2013: Watchkeeper inches towards service entry

Despite a stagnant development in the WK450 Watchkeeper programme in recent months, the British Army believes that the system will receive its release to service by the end of 2013.

Col J Musgrave, assistant director, capability director combat support (land), told the DSEi UAS conference in London that Watchkeeper is expected to be released into service at the end of the year, but whether or not it is deployed to its original theatre of intent, Afghanistan, is still unclear.
