DefExpo 2016: OIS-AT promotes UAV proliferation

The private Indian firm OIS Advanced Technology (OIS-AT) has invested heavily in UAVs over the past four years.

Indeed, Sanjay Bhandari, founder chairman and managing director, said his company may have the largest range of UAVs in India. 

It began by licence-building UAVs from overseas makers, but now has its own range.

Interestingly, military and paramilitary forces there are the only possible market for UAV makers in India. This is because an industrial licence is required for production, and restrictive airspace regulations are such that private citizens are not allowed to fly them.
