The Colombian Navy (ARC) has acquired a single Saab Seaeye Falcon ROV and it is now operational with the Diving and Rescue Department (DEBUSA).

The Falcon was procured in 2017, with training and acceptance trials taking place in Cartagena throughout February 2018 and will be used as an underwater inspection capability at greater depths.

‘We already had two [VideoRay] ROVs that had the capability to reach a certain depth, very limited really, and with the procurement of this new Falcon ROV, the idea is to reach a depth of up to 300 meters,’ explained Lt Cdr Juan Olarte, operations officer
