Avalon 2019: Firebird deliveries to US agency are imminent

Northrop Grumman highlighted developments of its optionally manned Firebird MALE aircraft platform designed for both overland and littoral surveillance at the Avalon Air Show. It is now in production for ‘US government customers’.

Brian Chappel, sector VP and general manager at Northrop Grumman’s autonomous systems division, refused to be drawn on which US agencies will be using the Firebird, but he confirmed it has been ordered by multiple customers.

The first Firebird will be delivered within two to three months.
