The US Air Force will be exhibiting a Global Hawk RQ-4 high-altitude long-endurance UAV at the Australian Airshow near Melbourne after flying an aircraft to Avalon air field from Guam.

The aircraft landed at Avalon on 21 February. The platform forms the basis for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Triton MQ-4C UAV, which will serve a maritime patrol role off the north-west coast of Australia. Up to seven Tritons will be based at RAAF Base Edinburgh and will operate from the runway alongside the P-8A Poseidon when it enters RAAF service.
