AUVSI: US Navy continues NEO trials

In partnership with the US Navy (USN) Northrop Grumman and Harris last week completed the latest in a number of demonstrations that are part of the Office of Naval Research's Navy Expeditionary Overwatch (NEO) System.

The main effort for NEO is being led by Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Dahlgren according to Larry  Datko, Northrop Grumman's manager expeditionary warfare programs. The latest trial on 5-6 August at NSWC Damn Neck demonstrated how a large USV could be used to provide overwatch at a distance from a mothership.
