AAI Corporation and Northrop Grumman have unveiled separate plans for the development of new intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance services businesses using tier two unmanned air systems currently on offer for the US Navy and Marine Corps for the small tactical UAS (STUAS) competition.

The AAI operation will see the company’s Aerosonde 4.7 UAS being pitched at possible ISR services requirements for the USN separately to the outcomes of the STUAS competition, with other US service arms also being targeted for opportunities.

AAI is currently readying two full systems, each comprising four air vehicles, to support launch of the services arm
