AUVSI 2014: University to utilise NG SandShark

The University of Dakota will use the Northrop Grumman SandShark to train the next generation of unmanned pilots, the two organisations announced at AUVSI on 13 May.

Under the cooperation agreement, Northrop Grumman will donate two SandShark UAS to the university, which aims to move into unmanned aircraft training both domestically and internationally.

‘This is the first UAV we have in the fleet for flight training,’ said Al Palmer, director of the Center for UAS Training at the University of Dakota.

SandShark is a UAS training solution, applicable to commercial, university and defence users, which is designed to reduce costs
