AUVSI 2013: DHS prepares to adopt DFSS technology

16th August 2013 - 10:30 GMT | by Beth Stevenson in Washington, DC

BAE Systems will test its Digital Fused Sensor System (DFSS) on-board an Air Robot quadrotor for the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in September, company officials have revealed.

The fused camera will be tested in Oklahoma in a series of data collection tests, as the department looks to add a small tactical UAV to the MQ-1 Predators it already operates.

‘They will be able to pull it out of their vehicle and easily look over the hill,’ Eric Hansen, manager of business development/mission application for ISR solutions at BAE Systems, told Shephard at the AUVSI Unmanned Systems exhibition.
