ADEX 2017: Hanwha Techwin grows giant UGV

Hanwha Techwin, one of two South Korean companies bidding for a military contract for a future UGV, exhibited its large-size 6x6 entry at Seoul ADEX 2017.

Simply called the Unmanned Ground Combat Vehicle (UGCV), it utilises a custom-designed and special-purpose chassis. After armour is added to the design in the future it will weigh approximately 5.8t.

The vehicle is powered by a hybrid engine consisting of an electric motor and small diesel engine. It can go faster, but engineers have limited its speed to 60km/h for safety reasons.
