AAD2014: Tellumat develops new ground control system

South African UAV datalink and radar specialist company, Tellumat, has developed a compact and lightweight operator control unit (OCU) for UAVs.

The OCU-1000 is designed as a system that will comprise two OCUs – one for the UAV and one for the payload – and an AP1000/1100 antenna positioner. 

The system can be installed in any light vehicle without permanent modification or it can transported in a light vehicle to where it is needed. The maximum load is the two 45kg, 1.17m x 53.5cm x 24.5cm polystyrene OCU cases, which are fitted with wheels. If necessary a single OCU
