B-2 Spirit sim gains latest IG upgrade

Under contract to Northrop Grumman, visual system specialist Quantum3D has completed an overhaul of a B-2 Spirit simulator at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma County.

The project comprised an upgrade of the old Quantum3D image generator (IG) to the latest IDX80 IG, as well as updating the IG support software to include the latest version of its Mantis IG software.

In addition to supplying the new IG and Mantis software, Quantum3D was contracted to assist with the integration efforts required for the upgrade, including providing simulator technician training.
