US defence and technology company Cubic demonstrated its Live/Virtual Convergence training concept at AUSA in Washington, DC.
Described by Cubic Vice-President Ground Training James Craig as ‘showing the art of the possible, showing what can be done’, the system uses motion capture cameras, live and virtual weapons, IMU, geopairing, optical tracking, and other sensors to create a full synthetic training environment.
‘The imagery is created in real time and creates a ‘shell’ for those in the training so they appear to be wearing uniforms,’ Craig explained.
