Stretched corvette design sketched by Saab
Saab is working to conceptualise and design a new family of surface vessels for the Royal Swedish Navy (RSN), with capabilities that it thinks will become influential in the future maritime environment.
Although the vessels are yet to be brought under a common banner, they nevertheless contain a range of commonality in combat management system and other systems that will aid integration across classes.
Autonomy is driving much of the initial design work, which is also being done so with the full knowledge of and degree of participation of the Swedish FOI and FMV military design and procurement agencies.
