South Korea, New Zealand induct new hovercraft
Griffon Hoverwork has delivered its first BHT 150 air cushion vehicle to the Korea Coast Guard (KCG), in the first delivery to a military or paramilitary customer.
The hovercraft commenced operations in January 2015 based at the coastal port of Incheon near Seoul.
The KCG will use its new vessel in the Yellow Sea to the west of the Korean Peninsula. Its mission set includes SAR, border patrol and airport crash rescue. It will operate in waters near the disputed Northern Limit Line, an extension of the Military Demarcation Line that separates North and South Korea.
