Socarenam wins utility craft order from DGA
The French shipyard Socarenam has received an order from the General Directorate of Armament (DGA) for the supply of a maritime and port security craft (VSMP) to the Maritime Gendarmerie and a helicopter winching training craft (VEH) to the French Navy.
According to the company, both vessels will have a length of 15m, a beam of 5.2m and a maximum speed of 30kt provided by inboard engines. The deal was finalised on 8 January, although the value of the contract has not been disclosed.
Both craft have been designed in cooperation with naval architecture company Delion and will feature aluminium
