Saudi Border Guard small boat programme close to completion
Plascoa, subsidiary of French shipbuilder Couach, is close to completing a large order for 79 Plascoa 1650 high speed interceptors for the Saudi Border Guard (SBG) as part of the service’s ongoing modernisation efforts.
These high-speed interceptor boats are the latest in a long line of Couach platforms in SBG service which has taken delivery of 68 fast patrol boats varying in size from 11-15m since the turn of the millennium.
The manufacturer is understood to have completed the construction of all 79 high speed interceptor boat hulls at its Gujan Mestras facility and deliveries are nearly complete.
