China takes advantage as Western carrier operations struggle
With aircraft carriers of both the US and French navies returning to port following outbreaks of the COVID-19 coronavirus on board, eyes are turning to the upcoming deployment of the UK RN’s HMS Queen Elizabeth in the coming weeks as the pandemic continues to threaten global operations.
Despite concerns being raised about the deployment of the UK carrier in recent days, information on the measures being undertaken by the MoD and RN is in short supply at a time when HMS Queen Elizabeth is supposed to be working up to a first operational deployment in 2021 to the Asia-Pacific region
