The Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) has announced the names of its eight new Littoral Mission Vessels (LMVs) following a public competition launched earlier this year that attracted more than 12,000 entries.
The navy chose the most popular suggestions, which turned out to be Independence, Sovereignty, Unity, Justice, Indomitable, Fortitude, Dauntless and Fearless.
The RSN commented: ‘These eight names reflect the theme of Singapore’s nationhood, carry the ideals that our founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew and our pioneers fought for and the attributes they exemplified. They will give strength to our ships
