With the purchase of nine P-8 Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft now confirmed by the UK government, British personnel stationed overseas as part of ‘Project Seedcorn’ are busy preparing themselves for the next stage of the initiative.

Project Seedcorn, which involves UK crews being posted abroad in the US, Canada and New Zealand, began in 2012 as part of an effort to retain anti-submarine (ASW) and anti-surface warfare (ASuW) skills among UK personnel.

Now, personnel that have trained on the P-8 Poseidon with the US Navy will become an integral part of training British crews in the next couple of years.
