Boeing gains GEDMS work for Arleigh Burke vessels
Boeing has been awarded a $13.23 million contract modification by US Naval Sea Systems Command, to procure AN/USQ-82(V) Gigabit Ethernet Data Multiplex System (GEDMS) shipboard networking hardware for the Arleigh Burke-class (DDG-51) guided missile destroyer programme.
The contract combines purchases for the USN (80%) and FMS recipients Japan (16%) and Australia (4%).
Work will be performed in Smithfield, Pennsylvania, for completion by August 2021.
The GEDMS control system network transfers mission-critical data to and from users associated with combat, navigation, aviation, power, propulsion, steering, alarms and indicating, and damage control systems.
